International Women’s Day observed in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: The International Women’s Day was marked in different areas of Shikarpur by the Legal Rights Forum by carrying out awareness rallies which were held in the villages including Mud Khoso and Wazirabad by Legal Rights Forum under the theme #ChooseToChallenge, on the eve of International Women’s Day, here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nighat Sultana, Ayaz Soomro, Zahid Abro, Saima Naz, Ghulam Qadir Mastoi, Saima Latif Soomro, Anisa Parveen, Reema Parveen, and Naseem Khoso said that women must be given equal rights in society and women must be empowered if the country is to develop. So women have to be empowered in society beyond color, race, language and culture. The leaders further said that the world is on the path of development by empowering women while also have to see women on an equal footing adding women must be given equal rights in society.

Programs were organized at least 70 different locations in district Shikarpur, besides 2300 girls, 90 Female learning Facilitators and 700 village Education Committee members participated.
The walk was led by the women stakeholders who were carrying posters inscribed with key messages. The aim is to empower, strengthening, social, economic and cultural achievements in women with the support of a platform that helps positive change for women and preventing girls from early marriages.
A large number of women and girls participated in the event and raised their voices.
Apart from this, RHS-A center Shikarpur also held program to celebrate Women’s Day with them #WomenInLeadership by Dr. Nareeman Balcoh, Ashique Dayo, Ms Waheedan Siyal and others.
