HYDERABAD: The former chairman Municipal Committee Qasimabad, Kashif Shoro will be the first PPP’s mayor who will lead Hyderabad. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has won the majority of seats in the local body elections. The PPP has won 113 seats Out of 160 Union councils, becoming the single largest party and could easily elect Kashif Shoro as the party’s first mayor. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won 41 seats and the Muttehida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) boycotted the LG elections.
While talking to the media Shoro was determined to solve the core issues of the city such as providing potable water, fixing poor infrastructure and creating recreational means for the people of Hyderabad. He further said that it was the first time the PPP’s mayor would lead Hyderabad and they would serve the people of Hyderabad who had shown trust in the PPP.
