SUJAWAL: Journalist fraternity, Social activists, and workers of nationalist parties staged a protest demonstration outside Mirpur press club demanding arrest of people involved in the Murder of journalist Ajay Kumar Lalwani who was gunned down by two unknown assailants in Salehpat a few days ago.
Journalist Karim Dad Chandio, Intizar Khati, Irfan Khowaja, Darya Khan Zaor, and others said that reporting truth in Pakistan was always a perilous pursuit and the lives of journalists were at stake they further said that journalists across the country were being persecuted for writing and reporting the truth.
They demanded action against those involved in the cold-blooded murder of the Journalist.
According to a survey report issued by the Federation of Journalists last year, Pakistan is among five countries dangerous for practicing journalism while 138 journalists have lost their lives in the line of duty during the past 30 years. An armed clash between two groups of the Malah community left 6 injured. The embattled groups used lathis and axes freely while the clash was said to have broken out over a petty issue.
The injured were shifted to civil hospital Sujawal for treatment no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
