SHIKARPUR: Shikarpur police claimed to have recovered a kidnappee, who was kidnapped a couple of days ago, after an exchange of fire between dacoits and police at the area of five-mile, here on Thursday.
According to reports, following the spy information, SHO Napar-Kot Muhammad Rasheed Lodhi carried out a successful raid in which he recovered a kidnapped youth named Shakeel Pathan, resident of Dera Ismail Khan.
According to the police report, when kidnappers saw that police have surrounded them when dacoits started aerial firing and managed to escape from the place of firing.
An FIR has been lodged at Napar-Kot police station and police have started further investigation into the matter.
Apart from that, Sayed Fazil Shah Bukhari, the Assistant Superintendent of Police, carried out a raid against gamblers and arrested Iqbal Ahmed, Tahir Shah, Zohaib Jamali, Jamal Din Jaffari, Bahadur Ali, Gulzar Mirani, Saeed Shaikh, Sheehun Jaffari, and recovered 37 Akra Parchi books, 8400 cash, 06 mobile phones, 02 motorcycles, and two calculators from their possession and registered a case against them under concerned laws at lakhi gate police station.
In a message, SSP and ASP Shikarpur said that no one would be allowed to take the law into his hands and it is the prime responsibility of Shikarpur police to maintain the law and order situation.
