According to details, like other cities of the country, Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh, also celebrated May Day with full enthusiasm. In this regard, a central rally was organized by Workers Confederation from Minara Road to Press Club. Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Union led by Shuja Ghamro, Javed Abbasi, CBA Union PTCL Shafiq Ahmed Kalwar, Shafi Muhammad Kalhoro.
Ali Mardan Sheikh of Pakistan Workers Federation, Qazi Nematullah of Railway Workers Union, Khadim Hussain Khosa of Irrigation Union, Shafiq Ahmed Kalwar of CBA Union PTCL. Shafi Mohammad Kalhoro, Saeed Mehr of Municipal Labor Union, Khadim Hussain of Sui Gas Union, Amir Ali Sheikh of Revenue Department, Darya Khan and others spoke and condemned privatization as a conspiracy against the workers of global imperialism. He said that the present government was aggravating the problems of the working class instead of solving them. The leadership of all the unions expressed their determination that if the workers in any organization were abused, the workers of all the unions would unite and launch a protest movement. The participants would pay tribute to the martyrs of Chicago. Demonstrated full solidarity and declared that if the anti-workers policies were not ended and they were not given their due rights, the working class would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for their rights.
