Upcoming downpour: Badin administration on high alert

BADIN: Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Badin has directed to all concerned departments to put on high alert for upcoming downpour in the district Badin.

Deputy Commissioner Badin on Wednesday while chairing an important meeting here at Campus Office Badin put all the relevant departments of the district, including Municipal Committees, Town Committees, Revenue Department and others, on high alert in view of the next monsoon rain spell forecast to start soon within a week.

Agha Shahnawaz Khan ordered all the departments concerned and the district municipal committees and town committees authorities to keep machinery and staff on standby as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rains onwards.

He also directed concerned officers to keep update all relevant machinery and other required equipments according to district contingency plan as rainy gathered water to de-water from the urban areas on immediate basis.

DC Badin directed to all concerned Assistant Commissioners to visit the sites and remove the hurdles posing disturbances in due flow of the drain water.
He also directed the town officers as well as other concerned officials to be on duty to deal with any untoward situation and help the people during predicted rain fall.

Addressing a meeting to review rain measures, the Agha Shahnawaz Khan said the PMD has forecasted monsoon rains, which can take intensity, so the people of the city should be saved from miseries during the downpours.
DC Badin said citizens may approach the district administrations or the Control room at 0297920013 and 0297920020 in case of any emergency, adding that the staff has been ordered to provide prompt response.

The meeting was also participated by Mohammad Hussain Lund, ADC-I, all concerned Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars and officials of relevant departments of district Badin.
