SUKKUR: Renowned senior journalist Jan Mohammad Mohammad Mahar has tragically lost his life in a violent assault that occurred in Sukkur. Mahar, a prominent figure associated with Kawish Television Network (KTN News), was targeted by unidentified armed assailants while he was departing from his office located in the central part of the town. The assault resulted in the senior journalist sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Initially taken to the Civil Hospital, he was subsequently moved to a private medical facility due to his critical condition. Medical professionals at the private hospital are actively engaged in efforts to stabilize and save the life of the senior journalist.
According to accounts provided by witnesses to media representatives, the armed attackers, riding a motorcycle, launched the assault on the senior journalist, leaving him severely injured. Upon becoming aware of the attack on journalist Mahar, the Inspector General of Sindh police directed DIG Javed Sonharo Jiskani to swiftly apprehend the individuals responsible for the attack. Both DIG Sukkur and SSP Sanghar Malik promptly arrived at the hospital in response to the incident. SSP Sukkur Malik, speaking with the media, speculated that the assault on Mahar might be a result of longstanding animosity with adversaries in his hometown of Chak town in the Shikarpur district.
