Pakistan Railways announces compensation for train accident victims

SUKKUR: Pakistan Railways administration has expressed regret over the death toll in a train accident and said that Pakistan Railways will pay Rs 1.5 million to the families of the victims while Rs 50,000 to Rs 3 lakh will be given to the injured passengers.
The spokesman said that the railway administration has started collecting data of the victims of the train accident on an emergency basis and the process of providing relief money to the victims will also be started soon. It may be recalled that last night near Ghotki, Millat Express from Karachi to Sargodha and Sir Syed Express from Punjab to Karachi collided with each other, as a result of which 50 people were killed and more than 70 injured.
