The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has further increased the price of electricity per unit.
According to the notification issued by NEPRA, electricity has been increased by Rs 53 per unit.
The notification said that electricity was made more expensive in the context of December’s fuel price adjustment while the increase in consumers’ electricity bills should be collected from February.
According to the notification, the increase in electricity prices will not apply to K Electric, including lifeline customers.
It may be recalled that NEPRA had reserved its decision after hearing the fuel price adjustment in December.
It may be recalled that just last month, the federal government had dropped another bomb on the citizens due to inflation and announced to increase the price of electricity by Rs 95 per unit.
