Protest held against shifting of Women Empowerment Center Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: The citizens of Kiri Nawab and residents of surrounding areas gathered under the leadership of Agha Muneer Pathan, the chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society Shikarpur & Chairman Special People’s Foundation and notable of the Mohalla as well, and recorded their protest against illegal shifting of the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal [Women Empowerment Center] Shikarpur within six months from Kiri Nawab Khan to another Mohalla where the same center has been at least 9 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Agha Muneer Pathan, expressed his great concerns over shifting the center and said that he could not understand why the newly posted Assistant Director is taking interest to shift the center to the previous place though the institute shifted here after conducting a feasibility report and keeping an eye over the suburb areas so that the area girls could take benefit from the center by learning sewing clothes and other technical skills and termed he [AD] has ulterior motives to move the center towards the previous mohalla.
Ali Asghar Pahore, the chairman of Shikarpur Bachayo Tehreek, also express his great reservations and said that if Assistant Director [WEC] is interested to move the center without any justification he announced to lodge a civil suit against him and his full support as the chairman of Save Shikarpur.
Ali Ahmed Buriro, the General Secretary Shia Ulma Council Shikarpur, also condemned the move of the Assistant Director and announced if the AD did not leave his counterfeit they would hold a protest movement and also hold a token hunger strike against Assistant Director Women Empowerment Center Shikarpur.
Zafar Ali Channa, Advocate, and Zahid Bhanbhro, representatives of Qomi Awami Tehreek Shikarpur, and other notables of Shikarpur belonging to different religious, political and city organizations also ensured the people of Mohalla for their support and expressed their great reservations and demanded the higher authorities including Prime Minister of Pakistan, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, the District & Sessions Judge Shikarpur, the Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur and others to take notice of illegal shifting of Women Empowerment Center.
