SHIKARPUR: Legal Rights Forum Shikarpur took out a rally to mark World Day Against Child Labor Day, which was started from New Fujdari Road up to Shikarpur Press Club to raise awareness against Child Labor Day.
Addressing the participants, Zahid Abro, said that there are One Crore and twenty-five lac children, aged around 10 to 14, who are doing labor work which is illegal according to the constitution of Pakistan.
Parvaiz Abro, Ayaz Soomro, Mujahid Bhutto, Dr. Ashock Kalani, and others said that World day against child labor celebrates across the world on 12 June every year and at least 152 million children across the world and one Crore and twenty-five lac children are doing hard labor work, therefore, their education also disturbs adding article 11 says child labor is restricted and article 25 says educations for all children aged around 4 to 16 is mandatory and it will be provided free of cost and unfortunately the regretted that children have to labor in Pakistan.
Leaders further demanded higher authorities to take stern action against those who are involved in child labor practice so that the children will become a significant tool to develop the country and also said that children are our future and future is affiliated with education and raised their voice against child labor.
Waheed Phulpoto, blogger and writer, the representatives of Child Rights Advocacy Network, Development Institute of Network, SDP, CARD, MATA, including Abdul Fatah Mahar, Riaz Bhayo, Jalaluddin Jamali, Jameel Mahar, Imran Memon, Ghulam Qadir Mastoi, Khalid Khan, Ms. Sobia Qazi, Ms. Nighat Sultana, Ms. Ramisha Maheen, Ms. Saima, and a large number of people belonging to different walk of life participated in walk-cum-rally while carrying banners and play cards inscribed with the slogans with various slogans against child labor.
