PTI’s Haleem Adil Sheikh arrested amid by-polls in Karachi’s PS-88

KARACHI: Police have arrested Haleem Adil Sheikh, Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly and PTI.

According to Geo News, tensions erupted when opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh reached the constituency on the occasion of the by-election in PS 88 Malir.

Following the by-election tensions in the constituency, the Election Commission ordered law enforcement agencies to expel Haleem Adil Sheikh from the constituency, after which the police expelled him from the constituency and took him into custody.

According to SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur, Haleem Adil has been taken into regular custody on the orders of the Election Commission.

Police said that a case will be registered against Haleem Adil Sheikh under riot and other cases.

According to police, Haleem Adil Sheikh has been kept in the office of SSP Malir while other leaders are also present with him.

DIG East said that several people who opened fire in the constituency have also been arrested.

On the other hand, PPP leader Saeed Ghani has alleged that dangerous weapons were used at the polling station and PTI members opened fire in the constituency.

Besides, PPP has accused Haleem Adil Sheikh of firing on his car in Malir and said that PPP people opened fire on his car.
