SHIKARPUR : 99th birth day anniversary of iconic poet Mubark Ali popularly known as Shaikh Ayaz was celebrated at Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur on Wednesday,2ND March 2022.
Chief guest of event, Mr. Ibrar Ahmed Jaffar, Deputy commissioner, Shikarpur, guest of honor, Ms. Vengus Ayaz, daughter of Shaikh Ayaz, guest speaker Mr. Ayaz Gul, modern sindhi poet, large number of literary persons, media personnel, students, staff and faculty members participated in birth day celebration of great and iconic poet of Sindh.
The event was started with cutting of great poet Shaikh Ayaz birth day cake by distinguished guest including her daughter Vengus Ayaz.
Well known Sindhi poet Mr. Ayaz Gul, guest speaker had a detailed talk on personality and poetry of Shaikh Ayaz. He said, “ Shaikh ayaz was poet of love, peace and harmony”. He was poet revolution, who always represented under privileged class and challenged status qua as well as authorities of time. He said some people misperceive him that Shaikh Ayaz was proudy and egoist. He shared many examples from his memories with Shaikh Ayaz, that how enthusiastically Shaikh Ayaz encouraged to raise young writers. He said his last days prayer poetry should be taken in poetic context rather than religious. In concluding his speech he said Ayaz prose is also as scholarly and praise worthy as his poetry.
Ms Vengus Ayaz, daughter of Shaikh Ayaz shared sweet and unforgettable memories. She said, ” My baba was not only inspiration for them but all over Sindh and Hind’.
Chief guest of event, Mr. Ibrar Jaffar, deputy commissioner Shikarpur said hardly personalities like Shaikh Ayaz are born in centuries, who preaches truth, justice and love.
Prof. Dr. Raza Bhatti, Vice Chancellor in his concluding remarks said we will once again make Shikarpur center of knowledge, interfaith harmony, trade and education by truly acting on message of Shaikh Ayaz. He said motto of Shaikh Ayaz University is revival of educational glory of Shikarpur. He said Shaikh Ayaz was poet of humanity and love. He added that soon we will call meeting of Vice chancellors of universities named after great Sufi and political personalities to practice their teachings in order to build ideal society. He informed that Shaikh Ayaz university will take lead in this regard.
In last participants were served with delicious lunch.
