THATTA: Revenue team faced strong resistance from land grabbers and their henchmen when they arrived to retrieve the land of Ramsar Site under illegal occupation of few influential land grabbers.
The henchmen of land grabbers reportedly attacked the team and got involved in the altercation with revenue officials. The team had arrived there in pursuit of the order issued by the District commissioner a few days ago.
Revenue officials told reporters that; The land grabbers and their henchmen used women as their shields who were asked to lie down before the vehicles to stop them from advancing.
Following strong resistance the revenue officials and Anti- encroachment police failed to dispossess influential land grabbers. Later the officials reached the local police station where SHO evaded from registering any case against grabbers on the behest of some influential persons he did not want to name.
In the meantime the Anti- encroachment team managed to remove the signboard of the picnic point put up by the land grabbers.
