Shikarpur: Father, son killed over old hostility

SHIKARPUR: A father and his son were gunned down while the daughter in law was sustained grave wounds by a few unidentified armed assailants at Golo Daro bridge over an old dispute between Manzoor Kharoos and Khair Muhammad Odho groups in the limits of Golo Daro Police Station, here on Friday
According to reports, Hazoor Bux Odho, a father, his son Awais Ahmed Odho and his daughter in law named Nawab Khatoon were heading towards their native village Tajo Dero after visiting Garhi Yasin city when a few unknown armed assailants belonging to Kharoos community persons opened indiscriminate firing on them, which resulting, both father and son were killed on the spot while Ms Nawab Khatoon sustained grave wounds, however, armed assailants managed to escape after doing areal firing from the place of the spot.
Following the information, area police reached on the spot and moved the bodies to Taluka Hospital Garhi Yasin for autopsies and handed over to their heirs after conducting necessary medical-legal formalities.
It was said to be a deadly dispute started a decade ago over the issue of Agricultural land and claimed 16 precious lives of Kharoos and 02 lives of Odha community persons and it still is ongoing.
Neither an FIR was lodged nor police have arrested any killer till the filing of this news story.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Shikarpur District was famous for quality education and its cultural articles, but nowadays Shikarpur has become famous for deadly disputes, honor killing, and other crimes like kidnapping for ransom and other all sort of negative activities.
