Sindh Govt committed to provide health insurance facilities to miners: Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh

KARACHI: An important meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Minister for Energy Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, in the office of Sindh Energy Department.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Jubilee Insurance Company and other senior officers, provincial Secretary for Energy Mr. Abu Bakar Madani and provincial Additional Secretary Coal Mines Sindh Mr. Khadim Hussain Channa were also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, Minister for Energy Sindh, Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh said that special attention has been paid to the welfare of workers in the manifesto of Pakistan People’s Party and Chairman PPP Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah have a keen eye on measures for the health and safety of workers and miners, in the view of this vision, the Government of Sindh enlisted the services of an insurance company to provide complete treatment facilities and necessary financial assistance to the miners, those are working in the coal mines in the province in case of any accident at work, so that health insurance can be provided to the miners in time of need and difficult times, the miners can be provided with reasonable medical treatment and financial assistance.
Representatives of the insurance company presented various proposals for providing insurance facilities to the miners, on which the Sindh Energy Minister directed the insurance company to come up with a reasonable program in this regard which could be implemented as soon as possible.
