KARACHI/THATTA: Sindh High Court rejected the pre-arrest bail of SHO Yaquob Bhatti, his two subordinates, and two others- Sohail Arian and Liquat Jokhio in the Ramzan Samoon Murder Case here on Monday.
After hearing the arguments from both sides Justice Salahudin rejected the bail of all five accused and ordered police to arrest them. Four out of five accused including former SHO Yaquob Bhatti the prime accused were arrested from the premises of the court while Liquat Jokhio managed to flee from there.
All of them were involved in the brutal murder of a laborer Ramzan Samon who was tortured to death in police custody at the Gharo Police station last year.
Ramzan Samoon was picked up by the police for interrogation after Sohail Arian lodged a complaint against him pertaining to theft. During the ruthless torture in police custody, he fell unconscious and was taken to Rural Health center Gharo where he succumbed to the injuries he had suffered because of torture.
After a day-long noisy protest by the relatives of Ramzan Samoon, an FIR was lodged against the SHO, his subordinates and other two private persons. Besides, the SSP suspended all three police officers involved in the episode.
Partiality on the part of the inquiry officer made the case weak and the accused got pre-arrest bail in the case.
