The IMF has been told that this is not the time to impose more taxes

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh has said that we have made it clear to the IMF that this is not the time to impose more taxes.

Talking to Geo News program Shahzeb Khanzada today, Hafeez Sheikh said that he wanted to assure the people of Pakistan that the talks with the IMF were at an advanced stage.

He said the IMF had been told that this was not the time to impose more taxes on the industry and the economy.

The finance minister said the government had reduced its expenditure and not borrowed a single rupee from the SBP.
