BADIN: Thousands of residents of the district Badin of different union councils including Hayat Khaskheli, Saman Sarkar, Khairpur Gamboh, Sangi Pharho, Malkani Sharif, Oliya Jarkas and others were facing intricacies and obstructions due to unplugged the breach of Mirpur Khas Main Drain (MMD) of Dhoro-Puran in district Badin.
According to details, after passing at least a month, concerned authorities of district Badin even irrigation department were foiled to get plugging the three hundred feet breach of Mirpur Khas Main Drain (MMD), Dhoro-Puran canal which yet bringing the havoc continually to the thousands of the people of the more than six union councils of Taluka Tando Bago, district Badin including Hayat Khaskheli, Saman Sarkar, Khairpur Gamboh, Sangi Pharho, Malkani Sharif, Oliya Jarkas and others.
The residents of these union councils were residing in the road side camps, tent cities and in inundated rainwater- villages when thousands of livestock including buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep, camels, donkey and poultry were observed on stake to survive, if no tangible efforts to be taken for the survival and even hundred livestock were also reported perished when standing crops on thousand acres have been destroyed which may brought economic destruction in future ahead.
Other hand, hundreds of the people have also held protest against the apathy of the concerned authorities who were according to them not much interested to plug the breach of MMD canal and intend to drown more population of the Taluka Tando Bago, district Badin.
Thousand of the population including children, women and men were residing in road side camps and tent cities without having basic facilities even difficult to get meal once in a day. Other hand, people who were settled in the camps were facing issues including safe dirking water, food, Emergency pit latrines and even in threat of snake biting and road accidents.
Social activists and human-actors have appealed the concerned authorities and humanitarian agencies to come forward for the assistance of the flood victims and stressed the Govt authorities to take tangible efforts to plug the breach of the MMD canal- Dhoro-Puran in district Badin.
