SHIKARPUR: On the eve of the 5th death anniversary of Abdul Sattar Edhi, humanitarian, philanthropist and ascetic, a program was organized by Pakistan Red Crescent Society Shikarpur to pay great homage to Abdul Sattar Edhi on keeping an eye over rendering humanitarian services for the welfare of the human being, at PRCS Shikarpur headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion leaders including Agha Muneer, the chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society Shikarpur, Ali Asghar Pahore, Dr Amir Abbas Soomro, Nazeer Ahmed Memon, Jameel Ahmed Soomro, Zahid Bhanbhro, Muhammad Anwar aka Yahya Soomro, Waheed Phulpoto, Asif Shaikh, Sami Bilali, and others paid great tribute to Edhi Sahib and said that Abdul Sattar Edhi born on 28th February 1928 in India and dedicated his whole life for humanitarian works for the welfare of the people of the world mainly Pakistan especially for Sindh who founded the Edhi Foundation, which runs the world’s largest volunteer ambulance network, along with various homeless shelters, animal shelters, rehabilitation centers, and orphanages across Pakistan and died on 8th July 2016 in Karachi and left his wife Bilqees Edhi and Faisal Edhi, Kubra Edhi, Kutub Edhi and Almas Edhi.
The leaders stressed upon the participants to come forward and play their role for the welfare of the people of Pakistan and Sindh.
In last, lamps were also lit to pay tribute to a great personality Edhi Sahib on the eve of his 5th death anniversary.
A large number of people belonging to different walks of life participated in the program.
