Walk on Social and Religious Tolerance held at SALU Khairpur

KHAIRPUR : A Walk on Social and Religious Tolerance in line with the Social Action Plan (SAP) of Inter-University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) organized by the All Departments and Institutes of Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Public Administration was taken out from the New Academic Block which terminated at the Main Gate of Faculty of Management Sciences. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor led the Walk.

Speaking to the participants of the Walk, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto advised the students to adopt policy of peaceful co-existence, national cohesion and tolerance in their practical life. He said youth is the agent of change so you could play your dynamic role in the social and religious tolerance because you belong from different backgrounds and you have to disseminate the soft message of tolerance in the society. He said Islam is the religion of peace, and harmony. It teaches interfaith dialogue and discourse. Dr. Ibupoto appreciated the role of Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator, IUCPSS for construction of Students Societies Service Building and provided an opportunity of two training sessions for teachers capacity building.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences cordially welcomed the participants. He commended the patronage of Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing a viable platform for the students activism. He also appreciated the contribution of all the Directors and Chairmen of Institutes and Departments of Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Public Administration for organizing this awareness walk.

Prof. Shahida Amir Chandio conducted the proceedings of the event. She shed light on this significance of social and religious tolerance in the society. It is our collective duty to maintain peace, cooperation and tranquility in the society.

A large number of teachers and students participated in the walk.
