Woman killed, 40 injured in Karachi Express accident between Rohri and Pannu Aqil

The Karachi Express crashed between Rohri and Pinnu Aqil, killing a woman and injuring 40 others, including women and children.

The Karachi Express from Karachi to Lahore crashed between Rohri and Pinnu Aqil. In the accident, 9 bogies of the train derailed out of which 4 fell into a ditch.

According to railway officials, the accident took place 25 km from Sukkur, while eyewitnesses said that most of the passengers were asleep at the time of the accident.

According to railway officials, a woman was killed and 40 others, including women and children, were injured in the accident. Thirty people have been discharged from the hospital after first aid, while others are being treated at hospitals.

Locals, rescue teams as well as Pakistan Army, Rangers and police also took part in the rescue operation. Trains have been restored after being suspended for several hours.

According to officials, the rescue operation has been completed and the down track has been cleared after repairs while the rehabilitation work of the track from Karachi to Punjab has been started. At present, trains are plying from the single track. ۔

A help desk has been set up by the railway authorities while a relief train has also reached the affected area.

Expressing deep sorrow over the accident to the Karachi Express, Railway Minister Azam Swati said that the railways need to be fully upgraded, adding that strict action would be taken against the railway employees if they were at fault in the accident. Will be brought in
