BADIN: The Soormi Sath Badin working for the rights of women of rural and urban areas has organized mega event for celebrating its 12th anniversary at Awan-e-Sahafat hall Badin on the other day.
The awards and shields were honored among political, social, academic, literary personalities and renowned journalists and warm clothes and blankets also distributed among flood affected women headed families of district Badin with support of Citizen Club.
Hundreds of participants, apart from prominent political, social, academic, literary women personalities and journalists, women from minority community and women belonging to different sectors, flood affected women also participated in the event.
Chairperson, Soormi Sath, Ms. Abida Marvi Samoon, Sadaf Kerio Najma Ansari and other on the behalf of their Sath have distributed the number of the awards and shields among renowned personalities including Nazeer Qureshi for her outstanding services in various fields and excellent performance, Ex-MPA, Farheen Mughal, active and PPP women leader, Educationist and well known TV Anchor, Ms, Zahida Taj Abro, Mumtaz Shaikh, Fareeda Channa, Ms Barkha and others for their excellent performance in their different fields.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Badin, Agha Shahnawaz Khan was also honored with the best performance award for his outstanding performance during flood when in his absence Mr. Waqar Ahmed Kalwar; ADC-II Badin has received the award.
Senior journalists including Tanweer Ahmed Arain, Haji Khalid Mehmood Ghuman, Abdul Shakoor Memon, Shoukat Memon, Shafi Muhammad Junejo Sawan Khaskheli, Lala Haroon Gopang, Mustafa Jamali, Altaf Shad Memon, Ali Mohammad Shahani and others also honored with awards for their excellent performance.
Social activists, Iqbal Hyder Qambrani, Khan Mohammad Mallah, Sports Officer Najaf Iqbal, Ramhish Kolhi, Sunny Bhambhro and other personalities also were honored with the awards for their best performance in various fields.
The organizers including Abida Marvi Samoon, Sadaf Keerio and others also briefed the participants regarding activities and progress details of the Soormi Sath. Soormi Sath has always raised the voice against the injustice with women like early marriages of girls, they added. They said that while promoting local skills and culture, Soormi has taken steps to access domestic and foreign markets saying that activists and workers of the Soormi started relief and rehabilitation activities at all levels and this process is continuing. When renowned & young artist, Abdullah Badal Rahi performed at the music festival organized at the end of the event.
