Sarfraz Ahmed is among the 18 potential players for the T20 series

KARACHI: Former captain Sarfraz Ahmed and all-rounder Hussain Talat have been included in the Pakistan T20 cricket team. Sarfraz Ahmed was not included in the Zimbabwe series. The PCB has said that Emad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez will be released from the squad at the end of the T20 series. Emad Waseem will return to Australia on December 23 to play in the Big Bash League while Muhammad Hafeez will return home on December 24. Sources said that Hafeez had expressed his concerns over isolation in New Zealand. Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and captain Babar Azam finalized the squads in consultation with Pakistan Shaheens head coach Ijaz Ahmed. An 18-member squad has been announced for the T20 series against New Zealand. The matches will be played on December 18, 20 and 22 in Auckland, Hamilton and Napier respectively. The national cricket team and the Pakistan Shaheens are currently serving their quarantine terms in Christchurch. Both teams will leave Christchurch on December 8 for Queenstown. Where they will stay in separate hotels. Both teams will begin training in Queenstown on December 9. Rohail Nazir, Fakhr Zaman and Zafar Gohar, who were part of the national squad for the T20 home series against Zimbabwe, were not included in the squad. After playing training sessions and intra-squad practice matches in Queenstown, the two squads will leave for their respective venues to participate in the series. The national squad will leave for Auckland on December 15, while the Pakistan Shaheens will leave for Auckland and Wongan on December 14. Rohail Nazir and Zafar Gohar will represent Pakistan Shaheens against New Zealand A. Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi were part of the national T20 squad for the home series against Zimbabwe, but they did not play a single match in the series.
