Can’t say anything about opening educational institutions from January 11, Shafqat Mahmood

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that he could not comment on the reopening of educational institutions from January 11.

Speaking on Geo News program GeoPakistan, Shafqat Mehmood said that education was severely damaged due to Corona, educational institutions remained closed from March to mid-September and then had to close again but we adopted different methods and continued education.
He said that a new type of Corona has also come which is being reviewed and the final decision to open educational institutions will be taken on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health.

The Education Minister said that he would take a decision on January 4 with the advice of the Ministry of Health. However, he could not say whether the educational institutions would reopen on January 11 or not.

Shafqat Mehmood said that uniform education curriculum will be implemented in 2021, uniform education system will be implemented in government, private and madrassa schools.

It is to be noted that due to the second wave of Corona, the government closed educational institutions across the country from November 26 and after reviewing the situation, it was announced to open from January 11.
