By: Eman Khalil

Most of the victims of the brutal epidemic of covid 19 are those who do not heed the precautions that experts and physicians advise to follow strictly and which the government has been urging to adopt, but seven patients of Peshawar Teaching Hospital. They themselves have fallen victim to the criminal negligence of those who are not only responsible for enforcing these measures and instructions but also for delivering life-saving medicines and other facilities to patients, and it is their responsibility to see that these facilities Whether they are being delivered on time and in a proper manner. In this regard, the relevant staff and supervising machinery of the hospital cannot be absolved of responsibility for this heartbreaking tragedy. It was reported that the patients lost their lives due to lack of oxygen and unavailability of oxygen cylinders on time. The tragedy occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The reason for the lack of oxygen was that the supplier could not deliver the oxygen cylinder to the hospital on time. The hospital is provided 5,000 liters of oxygen daily, which is far less than what is needed. A total of about 200 patients were affected due to untimely supply, including 96 patients from Corona. 45 to 65 of them

Seven people died in the intensive care and isolation unit. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government took immediate notice and set up a three-member inquiry committee, which was ordered to submit a report within 48 hours. The report will come and action may be taken against some people but those who lost their lives will not come back. Was done The government of Pakistan informed the people about this in a timely manner and also enacted legislation with the publicity of precautionary measures which also proposed penalties for those violating these measures or SOPs and business centers. These guidelines are being followed more or less in part because people did not show much concern due to the low damage caused by the first wave, although the fact that more than 1.5 million people in the world are affected by the epidemic is enough to open everyone’s eyes. Have died and thousands are dying every day. The number of people affected by the epidemic is close to 80 million. The total number of deaths in Pakistan has reached 8,500, while the number of deaths as a result of the second wave of Corona is increasing day by day. On Sunday, 58 patients died and another 3,803 became infected. Millions of people in the country have contracted the disease so far, but fortunately the number of those who have recovered is higher. However, more than 53,000 people are currently infected with the virus. The United States, Russia, Germany and the United Kingdom are in the process of developing a vaccine for the corona virus. It is not immediately expected to be available in the market and even when it does, it will be so expensive that lower and middle class people in poor and developing countries will not be able to buy it. In such a situation, the best way to deal with this epidemic is to strictly follow the orders and precautions imposed by the government. The government should also ensure all necessary facilities for the treatment of patients admitted to hospitals so that a tragedy like Peshawar can recur. Did not occur
