Corona: The danger is not averted

By: ghulam Haider Pitafi

The third wave of corona virus continues after the second. Its lethality and spread are alarming. With each passing day, people are turning to the disease as part of their lives and moving on to the old routine, which is a welcome thing, but we must not forget that the disease is as deadly today as it was then When it spread around the world from the Chinese city of Wuhan. This can be gauged from the latest figures from the National Command and Operations Center, which said that 38 more patients have died across the country in the last 24 hours, while the condition of 1,545 patients is critical. In 24 hours, 1,714 new patients have been reported, bringing the number of active cases to 17,352. According to the data released by the National Command and Operations Center, the total number of cases in the country has reached 588,728 so far. The coronavirus test rate in the country is 4.48% in 24 hours. From these figures it can be well estimated that the risk of this epidemic is not yet averted, the only difference is that now a number of vaccines have come in the global market to protect against this epidemic but these vaccines are available to every citizen of Pakistan When will it be available?

No final opinion can be formed on this. Fortunately, we have not suffered as much loss of life in both waves of the corona virus as in many developed and developing countries. It is prudent for our people to exercise caution till the completion of vaccination of at least three-fourths of the population in Pakistan and to ensure strict implementation of precautionary measures against corona.
