SHIKARPUR: An elderly woman was shot dead by her husband namely Mutabar Chandio over an alleged pretext of honor killing next to Abidal Shaakh in the limits of Hamayoon Police Station, here on Sunday.
According to police, Mutabar Chandio killed his elderly wife Ms. Gul Zadi on the pretext of Karo-Kari with Noor Ahmed Chandio and managed to escape, however, police have moved the body of a deceased woman to a nearby hospital and handed over her body to her relatives after conducting necessary medical-legal formalities.
Area police also claimed to have arrested Mansoor Chandio and Himat Ali Chandio.
Neither police have arrested killer husband nor police have lodged an FIR till filling this news file.
A large number of women have lost their precious lives over the pretext of Karo-Kari in Sindh mainly in Northern Sindh there is a dire need to hold awareness rallies and programs to overcome the situation.
