Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists protests against anti-journalists laws

SHIKARPUR: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ) has given countrywide protest call on Monday, against the adoption of “Punjab Assembly Privilege bill 2021” to punish journalists and media workers in Punjab.
Decision was announced by President PFUJ Shahzada Zulfiqar, Vice President Lala Asad Pathan, and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi, in a statement in which they asked all the Union of Journalists across the country to arrange protest gatherings and rallies against brutal piece of law which was adopted with consensus by all the political parties in Punjab Assembly which was tabled by Pakistan People’s Party MPA Makhdoom Usman as private members Bill.
Apart from protest rallies, black flags would be fluttered at all the press clubs in the country, the statement said.
Speaking on the occasion Agha Israr, the president of PFUJ Shikarpur chapter, Sodho James, Abdul Kahlique Soomro, Sultan Soomro, Hakeem Jatoi, Adeel Alvi, Arif Qureshi, Jibran Abro, Hanfi Brohi, Zahid Noon, Atiq Dhukar, Ibrahim Brohi,and others strongly condemned the adoption of Punjab Assembly Prvilege Bill 2021 and demanded to take back the bill otherwise they will keep continuing protest rallies.
