Israeli soldiers raid Al Shifa Hospital for second day in a row

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) has reported that for the second consecutive day, Israeli soldiers and tanks entered al-Shifa Hospital, causing damage to the radiology department and removing numerous deceased individuals.

Over the span of 24 hours, there were widespread heavy airstrikes, artillery shelling, and ground clashes. In a Wednesday Israeli airstrike in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, 50 people lost their lives.

In the southern Gaza region, Israeli forces instructed Palestinians in the northern part of the strip to evacuate to avoid impending conflict as Israel prepared for a ground invasion. According to Al Jazeera, “intense” Israeli strikes occurred in this area.

The report also highlights that, since October 7, at least 71 internally displaced people were killed, and 571 were injured while seeking refuge in UN facilities targeted by Israel across the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, the deaths of 3,117 students and 183 teachers in Gaza have been documented, along with 4,613 students and 403 teachers sustaining injuries.

As the Gaza ground invasion unfolded, Israeli forces have claimed the lives of 56 soldiers, with three additional casualties reported between Wednesday and Thursday. In the occupied West Bank, three Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces following an attack on the Tunnels checkpoint in Bethlehem, resulting in one Israeli soldier’s death and injuries to three others.
