Public engagement is key for containing Covid-19 pandemic: Agha Shahnawaz Khan

BADIN: Third coronavirus wave intensifies in Pakistan has rung alarm bells as it was proving to be more lethal and contagious and protection of the common people must be assured at any cost.
These views were expressed by Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Badin while chairing the meeting on Covid-19 and following the SOPs on Wednesday here at Darbar Hall Badin.
Deputy Commissioner Badin directed the Assistant Commissioners of all Talukas of Badin district to assure that SOPs and guidelines issued by Sindh Government were being followed in their respective talukas which he termed the core responsiblity of officials.
Mr. Agha Shahnawaz Khan expressed that lives of the common people are priceless and precious and providing them the protection and make them safe from Covid-19 and containing the spread of it, is our prime duty adding he stressed over the NGOs and other institutes to provide the masks and sanitizers to the people of Badin and join the hands of District Administration to complete the cause of protection of common people of district from 3rd wave of Covid-19.
He issued the directives to the district health authorities to set up the Isolation Wards (IWs) and Separate Wards (SWs) for the Covid-19 infected persons in each Taluka headquarters adding he said awareness campaign should be launched for common masses regarding the Covid-19 and its protection and facilitate the common people to follow the SOPs and social distancing.
He expressed that before by-poll of PS.70 Matli which to be held on 20th May, the voters and common masses must be awared regarding the following of SOPs and social distancing as containing the Covid-19 to be assured and people may cast their votes following the SOPs and social distancing.
On the occasion, Mohammad Younis Rind, ADC-II Badin, Sarmand Shaikh, Assistant Commissioner and others were also attracted the meetings.
