Sukkur : Wheelchair is the necessity for people with disabilities who are restricted in their daily activities, however, by providing them with a wheelchair they are able to maneuver independently and are free to do what they need without waiting for aid from a family member. For this purpose, Barakah Aid with the generous support of its donors donated 20- Wheel Chairs to disable communities who belong to Khairpur, Sukkur and Ghotki.
While talking with Sister Gul who is the founder and chair of Barakah Aid, said, the aim was to support the disabled people to get their self-respect, rights, welfare and security in the society. Furthermore, she said, Allah Almighty has declared persons with disabilities as His favorite and it is also a fact that a person with a disability is endowed with additional abilities by Allah Almighty. She said that if we encourage people with disabilities, there is no reason why special persons should not work alongside normal people.
Sister Gul said that wheel chairs are assistive devices which make assure mobility of people with disabilities. She said that this is unique gift from Barakah Aid for persons with disabilities living in remote rural areas of Sindh. Disability is not curse but blessing in disguise, people with disabilities possess abilities but are not offered equal opportunities in all walks of life, she added.
She said Barakah Aid, will donate more wheelchairs in coming days, as it will help the special people to boost their morale.
