SHIKARPUR: SSP Shikarpur Tanvir Tunio in a statement issued on Thursday briefed about the performance report of the Shikarpur Police for the month of June, 2021. According to the press statement, Shikarpur Police arrested 163 criminals in a month and recovered arms which counted as 3 Kalashnikovs, 9 shotguns, 10 pistols, 51 cartridges and 56 rounds of bullets. Shikarpur police faced 22 encounters in June and busted 5 gangs of the dacoits during which 2 dacoits were killed and 6 were injured, besides the arrest of 68 dacoits. The district police have also seized 19 kgs high quality hashish, 16 half bottles of wine, 164 kgs gutka and 5 kgs hemp. The police successfully recovered 13 abducted men from different areas, besides saving 16 others from being kidnapped. 8 stolen motorcycles and 1 car were also recovered by the police during the ongoing operation, besides arresting 23 gamblers, who were booked in four cases. The police recovered Rs 27,500 cash and 15 mobile phones from possession of the arrested gamblers.
