Sindh Energy Minister asks to ensure safety and security of Thar Coal project workers

 

KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh has instructed the officers of the companies working in the Thar Coal project to ensure the health, safety and security of the workers working in the project and said that no any negligence will not be tolerated.
He warned that safety and security arrangements at Thar Coal Field should be improved and foolproof within a week in case of negligence strict action would be taken against responsible.
Provinial Minister Mr. Imtiaz Shaikh was presiding over a zoom meeting held at the Sindh Energy Department office, which was attended by officials of companies working on the Thar Coal project and officials of the Energy Department.
In the meeting, the Provincial Minister for Energy expressed his indignation and compunction over the recent killing of Dodo Bheel in Islamkot Thar. He said that such incidents could have adverse effects on the Thar Coal project and the Thar Coal project is a very important and sensitive project in terms of meeting the energy needs and part of CPEC project and the security the safety and security of the project must be ensured in all cases and the health, safety and security of the workers and all the people working in the project must be ensured at all costs.
He said that the PPP leadership has taken stern notice of the senseless killing of Dodo Bheel and the accused involved in this incident will not be able to escape punishment.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officers of Sino Sindh Resource Pvt. Ltd. and Power generation companies operating in Thar Coal Block 1, as well as Sindh Energy Secretary Tariq Ali Shah, while other officers gave a detailed briefing in the meeting.
