Two-Day International Hybrid Seminar on COVID-19 begins at GC University Hyderabad

HYDERABAD:  A Two-Day International Hybrid Seminar was began at Government College University Hyderabad on Friday. Experts from different walks of life read their research papers and warned to make all possible efforts against the pandemic. They also threw light on national and international scenario and informed about the current situation and measures being taken by international community. In her presidential address the vice chancellor Government University Hyderabad Dr Tayyaba Zareef said that no doubt Covid 19 is a great challenge but we need not to be frightened as it is not the solution. The international community is handling it with great sense of responsibility. She further said that the pandemic has affected all walks of life along with education and it is our responsibility to accept the challenge and work day and night to overcome it. She said that the higher Education Commission and Education Department should work on e-learning. All the stalk holders should come forward and play their effective role in this regard. She said that at Government College University Hyderabad worked at its best when the physical classes were suspended and held online classes with great success. Keeping the future possibility in view the number of teachers is being increased at GC University is so that the situation can be handled properly if any necessity arises. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudary though the experts around the world have prepared the vaccine for Corona Virus yet there is need to give the vaccine to individuals on war footings like polio drives. He said that there is only one way to get rid of such pandemic to advance in science and technology.

Genomics surveillance of SAR- CoV-2 in Pakistan, HIV and Covid 19 the struggle continues, Innovative reflection of coexisting with COVID-19 pandemic and way forward were discussed. In the second session Application of superficial fluid extraction for exploration of bioactive components from medicinal plants, How technology Innovation harnesses in pandemic, Evaluation of Different Biomarkers and their correlation with severity of COVID-19 Pandemic, Lessons learned from schooling practices during the COVID-19 lockdown were discussed

The seminar will continue on the second day tomorrow.
