Acting US Ambassador to the UN Security Council Richard Mills, referring to the new US administration’s policy on the Palestinian-Israeli issue, hinted that US President Joe Biden’s policy on the Middle East was unanimous and that the two states should agree. Based on support for a solution in which Israel will remain secure and peaceful with a viable Palestinian state, this is an important development that, although outlined in the future, can be hoped for. The Biden administration will also take into account the position of the Palestinians, which was sorely ignored during President Trump’s tenure that a unilateral peace plan was not only presented but also implemented in practice. The move by the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and open an embassy there was a key link. However, many international analysts still say that the US policy towards Palestine and Israel will remain more or less the same as during the Trump era, but in some cases a softening is likely. US Ambassador Richard Mills added that the Biden administration intends to renew US relations with the Palestinian leadership and people by taking steps to restore Palestinian aid and reopen diplomatic missions closed by the Trump administration. It should be noted that the peace plan announced by US President Donald Trump for the Middle East was completely pro-Israel in which the position of the Palestinians was completely ignored. The new US administration needs to work with both sides to present a peace plan that gives the Palestinians their full rights. In the same way, a solution can be found to this problem which is more than half a century old.
