Veteran Lawyer President District Bar Council Thatta Ahmed Halo Dies of COVID-19

THATTA: Veteran jurist and President of Thatta Bar Council Advocate Ahmed Halo passed away after battling with COVID-19 for around two weeks at DOW University Hospital Karachi on Wednesday evening, he was 66 . The seasoned lawyer was tested positive around two weeks ago and was shifted to DOW University Hospital where he succumbed to the virulent disease.
Mr. Halo was a crusader of Human rights and freedom of expression he played a vital role during lawyers’ movements. He served as General Secretary and Vice-President of Thatta Bar Council on different Occasions and was Elected President of Thatta Bar Council this year.
People from different sections of life, particularly the lawyer’s fraternity, expressed deep grief over the demise of their colleague. His close friend and colleague Shabbir Kumbhar said that the death of Advocate Ahmed Halo has left a huge vacuum that could never be filled. He said that the late lawyers actively participated in the elections of the Bar council and vividly supported the cause of lawyers.
Senior Journalist Mahbboob Brohi said that He was a man of his principles with a humble nature who believed in teamwork that is why he was a successful lawyer and a leader who efficiently led the district bar council.
The district Bar Council Thatta has announced a three-day mourning.
