KARACHI: Sindh Information Secretary Rafiq Ahmed Burriro has said that with hard work, dedication and sincerity, not only officers can make better use of their abilities but also the performance of the department can be improved. He expressed these views while addressing an introductory meeting of the directors of various directorats of the Information Department after taking charge. Director Planning Ghulam Saqlain, Director Social Media Aslam Pervez Jatoi, Director Press Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Director Information Mohammad Saleem Khan Director Publication Akhtar Ali Sohrio, Director Advertising Aziz Ahmed Hakro, Director Film Shabia Siddiqui, Director R&R Mohammad Ali Riyaz Memon, Director Legal Hizbullah Memon and Director Electronic Media Muhammad Zafar Khan participated. In view of the growing importance of social and digital media, the Information Secretary stressed on the need to make full use of it in order to deliver timely government measures to the people as well as refute baseless and false news. He said that continuous training of officers was essential in this regard and directed full measures to be taken. The Information Secretary said that the Information Department is the most important department of the Government of Sindh as it acts as a bridge between the government and the media as well as publicizing government initiatives for the welfare of the people. He directed to ensure fair distribution of advertisement and transparency.He said that the officers should discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the law and maintain honesty and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He further said that the officers are part of his team and he will take all possible steps to solve their problems so that they can perform their duties more impartially. The image of information can be improved. On this occasion, the directors of all departments gave a detailed briefing to the Information Secretary about their respective directorates.
