PPP will not leave rain-affectees alone & possible assistance to be assured: Shazia Mari

BADIN: Shazia Mari, Federal Minister of Poverty alleviation and Social safety while talking to the media after visiting Ehsas Nasho Numa Center Badin on Monday expressed that the Federal and Provincial governments have carried out continued the relief activities to facilitate the rain-affected people in addition to drain out the accumulated rainwater at low-lying urban areas.

Adding she said that Federal Government has allocated Rs37.5 billion for the poor of people of rain and flood-hit districts.  Rs25000 would be paid to 1.5 million families under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), she added and said that financial assistance to rain-affectees to be ensured transparent and no illegal deduction from allocated amount will be tolerated.

Federal Minister, Shazia Mari said that Pakistan People Party (PPP) has always served the people in the irony days. She said that under the direction of Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, all the possible resources of the Federal and Provincial governments were being utilized for the relief and rehabilitation of the rain affected people of the province. The Federal Minister said that recent rains created the havoc in the province including Badin district which has also been badly affected.

On this occasion, Princess of Jordan, Sarah Zaid, Special Advisor on Maternal & Child Nutrition, World Food Program along with Federal Minister Shazia Mari visited the Ehsas Nasho Numa Center of BISP where doctors of department briefed her about the activities of the center of BISP.

While visit, Sarah Zaid expressed that she is working with the WFP to raise awareness on maternal and newborn health and nutrition saying that it is a matter of pleasure that this program was being run successfully in Pakistan.

Earlier, upon the arrival of Sara Zaid, Special Adviser of World Food Program & Shazia Mari, Federal Minister of Poverty alleviation and Social safety in Badin District, Senator, Khalida Sikandar Mandhro, Mohammad Ismail Rahu, Provincial Minister Sindh, Pir Noorullah Qureshi, Special Assistant to CM, MNA, Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, MPA, Haji Taj Mohammad Mallah, Sajda Talpur and others warmly welcomed the guests.

Meanwhile, it is reportedly said that rain affectees have kept throngs of complaints against the local politicians and elected representatives in the presence of the Federal Minister and Jordanian princess and leveled the accusations against the local politicians of Badin for neglecting the people of Badin.
